Our Practicioners provide care to patients with congenital and/or traumatic disabling conditions of the musculoskeletal structure of the body by evaluating, designing, fabricating, fitting and aligning braces, also known as orthoses. These services are performed at the request of or in conjunction with a Doctor's order. We assist in formulating a prescription by examining and evaluating the patient's orthotic need in relation to their functional loss.

In providing an orthosis, the Orthotist is responsible for formulating its design and selecting its materials and components; making all necessary casts, measurements, model modifications, and layouts. He or she performs fittings, including static and dynamic alignments; evaluating the orthosis on the patient; instructing the patient in its use; and maintaining patient records; all in conformity with the prescription.

The Certified Practitioner is required to keep abreast of new developments concerning orthotic patient care by attending regularly offered seminars and symposiums throughout the world.
