Prosthetic Services

Our Practitioners provide care to patients with partial or total absence of a limb by evaluating, designing, fabricating, fitting and aligning those artificial limbs known as Prostheses. This work is done at the request of and in conjunction with a Doctor's order. We assist the physician in formulating a prescription by examining and evaluating a patient?s prosthetic needs in relationship to functional loss.

In providing a prosthesis, the Practitioner is responsible for formulating its design and selecting materials and components, in making all necessary casts, measurements, model modifications and layouts. He or she performs fittings, including static and dynamic alignments; evaluates the prosthesis on the patient; instructs the patient in its use; and maintains patient records; all in conformity with the prescription.

The Certified Practitioner is required to keep abreast of new developments concerning prosthetic patient care by attending regularly scheduled seminars and symposiums throughout the world.
